HBF POLICY CONFERENCE 2019
The industry came together to discuss the plethora of issues facing the housebuilding sector at the HBF Policy Conference on March 26th.
Despite the problems of parliament and the Brexit debate, both housing secretary James Brokenshire and shadow housing secretary John Healey escaped Westminster to speak at the conference, laying down challenges to the industry on quality and delivery.
The conference discussed the key issues facing housebuilders, including of course planning, the market, customer care and the advent of the New Homes Ombudsman.
But also on the agenda this year were mental health and diversity.
HBF announced the launch of a new campaign in association with the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity to help end the stigma surrounding mental health and provide support for workers in the industry. Housebuilders have already raised more than £100,000 for the charity.
And a diverse panel of industry experts discussed the Future Face of the Housebuilding Industry and the importance of diversity and inclusivity to the sector.
