Robust Details Roadshows

The Robust Details (RD) scheme is now five years old. Nearly half-a-million new homes have been registered under the scheme and thousands of sound test results are held in our database.

The 2010 RDL Roadshows will provide a full update on what we have found ‘in the field’ and will pass on some of the lessons learned from tests and site inspections.

Importantly, you’ll have an opportunity to look at what’s coming next. Amongst other things, the effect the new Part L and changes to The Code for Sustainable Homes will have on the construction of separating elements.

As well as expert speakers, some of our supplier colleagues will be in attendance to discuss the next generation of robust details – you’ll be able to learn about (and discuss) the changes they expect to make to products and specifications to meet these new requirements.

We’ll show you:
• how new robust details are approved – and what’s in the pipeline
• which constructions meet the enhanced sound insulation requirements contained in the Code for Sustainable Homes.

At this year’s regional seminars you will also learn about:
• test results and how to achieve the best possible performance
• which walls and floors are performing better than anticipated, and which ones are not achieving the results we had expected
• new (and amended) robust details, issued since the last round of seminars
• our top Dos and Don’ts for avoiding sound insulation problems on site
• what to do if something goes wrong on site
• what to do if you cannot use robust details for some parts of your development.

As always, our experts will also be on hand to address your own sound insulation problems.

You’ll also be able to hear the latest prospects for the RD scheme to expand into other areas of regulation.
