Vistry has offered a “voluntary exit” to its staff members who “don’t feel aligned to the business”.
The partnerships housebuilder has sent the offer to its workforce of around 4,000, stating that it is “not voluntary redundancy”, but an opportunity for those “who feel their future may lie outside the business”.
A spokesperson said that the exit offer was designed to provide additional flexibility to those who wished to leave, but with no-one obliged to accept it. “It is an entirely business rationale approach and is likely to be of interest to a relatively small number of our circa 4,000 staff,” Vistry stated.
It added that the voluntary exit scheme was part of its commitment to improving operational performance, maintaining cash discipline and positioning the business for long-term sustainable growth “with teams and colleagues who are fully engaged with that journey”.
The voluntary exit offer follows continuing challenges for the business. In May, it warned that its first half profit would be “significantly” lower than last year, thanks to the business offering discounts to achieve sales.
