Persimmon has appointed Galliford Try veteran Andrew Duxbury as its chief financial officer.
Duxbury, whose start date at the volume housebuilder is to be confirmed, will join the business after more than ten years at construction company Galliford Try (the original home of Linden Homes and the former Galliford Try Partnerships, now part of Vistry Group).
In his time with GT, Duxbury has held various finance roles and has been group finance director since March 2019.
Previously to his tenure at GT, Duxbury worked at PwC, leading a portfolio of clients for 16 years.
He will join Persimmon’s board as an executive director. Until Duxbury starts his post, group ceo Dean Finch will continue to have interim responsibility for the finance department with support from group financial controller Mike Smith. In July, Persimmon announced that then-chief financial officer Jason Windsor would leave the housebuilder in September to become cfo of global investment company abrdn.
In a trading update yesterday (November 7), Persimmon said its headcount was likely to reduce by around 700 as it faces a “highly uncertain” market.
