Mark Elliott

Mark has been CEO of McCarthy & Stone since 1 November 2012.

Prior to joining McCarthy & Stone, he was CEO at Arena Leisure plc, the UK's largest operator of horse racing and hotel venues, where he oversaw the £35m redevelopment of Doncaster racecourse, a £30m development including the introduction of a 116-bed Marriott hotel at Lingfield Park and the successful negotiation with the local authority to include Folkestone Park as a strategic site in the Local Development Framework, zoned to allow the construction of up to 820 new houses.   Mark also created a catering business that went on to win contracts at two Olympic 2012 venues and negotiated contracts to double the company's income from its media rights.

Prior to Arena Leisure, Mark spent fifteen years at Wembley plc, latterly as CEO, where he was instrumental in disposing of Wembley Stadium and reinventing the company as an international track-based gaming business in the UK and the US.

Mark studied Chemistry at the University of Durham and trained as an accountant with Ernst & Young.
