South Yorkshire Housing Association (SYHA) and Elim Housing have joined the Places for People group (PfP) as subsidiaries.
PfP confirmed the successful mergers today (December 1) following negotiations, due diligence and customer consultations across both companies. This means that SYHA’s 5,700 homes across Yorkshire and surrounding regions and Elim Housing’s 900 homes across Bristol and Gloucestershire will be brought into the wider PfP group, adding to the 262,000 homes that PfP manages across the UK.
The social enterprise said that its acquisitions would combine its scale “and financial resilience” with SYHA and Elim Housing’s “own deep local knowledge to deliver even better outcomes for customers”. And the move would “strengthen the ability of all three organisations to deliver high-quality, affordable homes and specialist support services within their respective communities”.
The two housing associations that join PfP will, over the next year, undergo the process of fully integrating into the group to eventually operate under the same name.
