London mayor reveals housing fund winners

The mayor of London Boris Johnson has revealed the first companies who will build affordable new homes in the capital as part of a £100 million housing fund to boost housing supply and offer Londoners home ownership.<br> <br> Bidding for the fund was announced in September. As part of the first stage, 27 organisations will share £78 million to build 3,000 new homes which will support around 6,000 construction jobs.<br> <br> The homes will offer flexible ownership choices, including low-interest equity loans, rent-to-save, and part-buy-part-rent.<br> <br> Successful housebuilders in the first round include Barratt – who received the biggest share at around £14 million – Crest Nicholson, Persimmon and Taylor Wimpey.
