Industry launches Future Homes Delivery Plan

<p><span>The Future Homes Task Force has today (July 27) published its delivery plan for the housebuilding industry’s response to the government’s environmental agenda, with its planned delivery Hub to launch in September.</span></p><p><span>The Task Force, consisting of key figures from sectors including housebuilding, the supply chain, planning, infrastructure, utilities and regulator communities, has produced a roadmap within the summary of its <a href="https://www.futurehomes.org.uk/delivery-plan">Future Homes Delivery Plan</a> to reach agreed goals for meeting the government’s climate, nature and wider environmental targets. These goals include:</span></p><p><span>•<span> </span>Creating high quality homes that are “zero carbon ready” and sustainable by 2025, with early investigation of the steps beyond;</span></p><p><span>•<span> </span>Producing places and developments that are “consistently low carbon, nature rich, resilient, healthy, well-designed and beautiful” by 2025;</span></p><p><span>•<span> </span>Production and construction methods that are net zero and sustainable by 2050, “with substantial progress by 2025 and 2030”;</span></p><p><span>•<span> </span>Businesses operations “in line with the Race to Zero”: net zero by 2050 with a 50% reduction by 2030.</span></p><p><span>This delivery plan, according to the Task Force, is the first sector-wide in the UK to cover the full range of environmental targets, stretching from net zero carbon emissions to nature, air and water quality, resources and waste.
