Housing and planning individuals have been awarded in the King’s New Year’s Honours list, with Paavan Popat, chief executive of luxury care provider TLC Care and a member of the Older People’s Housing Taskforce, receiving an OBE.
Popat is recognised for services to intergenerational housing. The Older People’s Housing Taskforce of which he was part, launched in April 2023 under the previous government to “support the growth of a thriving older people’s housing sector across the country,” according to the then-Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) and the Department of Health and Social Care.
The taskforce published its report in November 2024.
Anna Rose, head of the Planning Advisory Service, also receives an OBE for public service. She is also a member of the Local Government Association’s improvement management team.
Also on the OBE list is Dr Hywel Davies, head of technical insight at the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE), for services to building safety and standards. He joined CABE in August 2024.
Catherine Francis, MHCLG’s director of new towns, infrastructure and housing delivery, is a CBE recipient for public service. Also receiving a CBE is Suzanne Rastrick, NHS England’s chief allied health …
