Hill donates first Foundation 200 homes

<p><span>Hill has donated 16 modular homes to Cambridge City Council in the first partnership under its £12 million Foundation 200 initiative to build and donate 200 homes to the homeless.</span><span><span><span> </span></span></span><span></span></p> <p><span>Cambridge City Council, which has identified three sites from its own land for modular homes as part of its Cambridge Next Steps programme, will work with homelessness charities so that the new tenants of the temporary homes receive support to integrate into the local community.</span><span> </span></p> <p><span>Hill’s Foundation 200 homes, built in a British factory, are delivered fully furnished and ready to move into. The 24.5</span><span> </span><span>sqm properties, accommodating one person per home, are designed to meet the Future Homes Standard and feature an air source heat pump and mechanical ventilation and heat recovery (MVHR). The specification includes a fully fitted kitchen, living/dining area, a bathroom with shower and bedroom with built-in storage.</span><span> </span></p> <p><span>They are also designed to meet the needs of the homeless, Hill said, with the housebuilder having worked with homelessness charities including The Connection at St Martin’s in the Fields in London.</span><span> </span></p> <p><span>Emma Fletcher, project director of Foundation 200, part of The Hill Group Foundation’s programme of charitable and community activities, said:</span><span> </span><span>“We are …
