Guild Living agrees framework to “revolutionise” major projects delivery

<p><span>Guild Living, Legal &amp; General’s urban retirement division, has agreed a supply chain framework with its contractors which aims to minimise delays and disputes, supporting “high build quality” across its planned retirement communities.</span><span></span></p> <p><span>The Guild Living Alliance Framework is designed to “revolutionise the delivery of major projects” and overcome issues commonly associated with traditional types of procurement, “which too often are focused on achieving the lowest price for contracts and which see risks transferred between parties, rather than being shared,” the retirement home provider explained. </span><span> </span></p> <p><span>Guild Living’s framework has been agreed with Wates Group, Morgan Sindall Construction, Sir Robert McAlpine and architect Marchese Partners.</span><span> </span></p> <p><span>Under the framework, contractors will be involved early in the design process before architects produce their detailed designs, “saving time and enhancing the quality of each development,” Guild Living explained. </span><span> </span><span></span></p> <p><span>And risks emerging during the development process will be passed to the party most suitable to manage them, the business added. “Where no party is best placed to manage the risk, for example, in the event of a pandemic like Covid-19, the risk is shared”. </span><span> </span><span></span></p> <p><span>The framework will also ensure “fixed and appropriate” profit margins from the start, with …
