Grosvenor submits plans for Oxfordshire Garden Village

<p><span>Grosvenor Britain &amp; Ireland has submitted an outline planning application for a sustainable garden village in West Oxfordshire, set to deliver up to 2,200 new homes, green space, community amenities and a 27-hectare business park.</span><span></span></p> <p><span>The application, Grosvenor said, was the largest lodged to date for its Strategic Land division.</span></p> <p><span>Oxfordshire Garden Village, one of 14 garden villages supported by the government in 2017, will, Grosvenor explained, apply a 21st-century version of garden village principles to “meet the community’s future economic and social needs, while paving the way for a substantial reduction in carbon emissions”.</span><span></span></p> <p><span>Alongside the homes and other features, the masterplan provides for new primary and secondary schools, sports facilities, allotments and 57,000 sq m of employment space.</span></p> <p><span>Grosvenor said the project’s design reflected a “new benchmark for community engagement”, with local residents and front-line service providers closely involved through events, exhibitions and study tours of other award-winning schemes.</span></p> <p><span>And Oxfordshire Garden Village will follow the sustainability goals Grosvenor set last year “to address the climate emergency”. </span></p><p><span>These include achieving net biodiversity gain with 40% of the site remaining undeveloped and close to four hectares of new woodland planted; 20% of the village’s energy demand being met through …
