“Great success” for New Homes Month

The New Homes Marketing Board has declared September’s New Homes Month a great success with the industry benefiting from “hundreds of articles” appearing in the national, regional and local media. <br> <br> The month-long event was organised by NHMB and supported by HBF, Homes for Scotland and NHBC. As with New Homes Week in 2009, the campaign sought to highlight the various advantages of new build homes. <br> <br> On the eve of New Homes Month, HBF called for recognition of the crucial role housebuilding had to play in creating housing and jobs. <br> <br> The Federation said that for every new home built, 1.5 full-time jobs were created, with the number rising up to four times in the supply chain. <br> <br> “Housebuilding is a British industry success that is responsible for hundreds of thousands of jobs across the country,” said HBF’s executive chairman Stewart Baseley. “New homes are vital for first time buyers and young families and are also cheaper to run.”<br> <br>
