Gladedale consolidates in bid for top ten spot

<p>The privately owned Gladedale Group has embarked on a growth strategy aimed at becoming a top ten housebuilder, following the consolidation of its various housebuilding brands during the first quarter of the year. The new Gladedale branding will replace Bett Homes in Scotland, the north east and north west of England; Country &amp; Metropolitan in the north west, Yorkshire, the midlands and the south; Furlong Homes in London and the south, and Premier Homes in East Anglia. The company’s low cost housing divisions will be rebranded Primo, and Bett Partnerships will become Gladedale Partnerships. </p> <p>Chief executive David Gaffney said: “While the existing brands have served us well, we feel the time is right to throw our collective weight behind a strong, single brand which will have recognition throughout the country. “This will support our drive to become one of the dominant players in the housebuilding industry.” The decision to rebrand was made following extensive consultation with customers and noncustomers, including focus group research. Gladedale was founded in 1996 by executive chairman Remo Dipre. It acquired Furlong Homes in June 2000, Scottish firm Castlegait in 2002, and Bett in May 2003, which has since been merged with Castlegait. The group’s …
