<p>Colin Lewis, former ceo of Avant Homes, has joined Piper Homes, a Midlands-based housebuilder, as non-executive chairman.</p> <p>Lewis, a lawyer by trade, left the Northern-based Avant Homes <a href="http://www.house-builder.co.uk/news/colin-lewis-leaves-avant">last Spring</a> following the <a href="https://www.house-builder.co.uk/news/ex-persimmon-boss-fairburn-heads-avant-takeover">sale</a> of the housebuilder to Yorkshire-based developer Berkeley DeVeer. He served seven years as ceo, staying with the company for 11 years in total.</p> <p>He now brings more than 35 years of property sector experience to the newly-created role at Piper Homes. He will help guide the business through its regional expansion – Piper is aiming for output growth of 160% by 2023, wishing to be a top 50 UK housebuilder. </p> <p>Piper Homes launched an affordable homes division last year. It plans to launch new schemes in Coventry, Mansfield and Pershore in the coming months. </p> <p>Lewis said: “Since leaving Avant, I’ve always said I’m keen to put my knowledge, experience and enthusiasm to good use if the right opportunity comes along, and that certainly feels like the case with Piper.
