Brits still want to own a home

Most Britons still aspire to home ownership despite the severely restricted market, a survey has revealed. The YouGov survey commissioned for the New Homes Marketing Board (NHMB), found that 88% of respondents still wished to own a home and saw it as a sound investment. The research also revealed that 52% supported the introduction of a government backed deposit scheme, encouraging first time buyers to save up to £30,000 at which point they would receive a 25% bonus. The NHMB has been making pleas for such a scheme for two years and is now repeating the call.
