Boles launches streamlined planning website

Planning minister Nick Boles has launched a test version of the online planning guidance portal recommended by the Taylor Review group.<br><br>The draft resource sets out new guidance, reduced from thousands of pages. Members of the public have until October 9 to give their views on the style and content of the website before it goes live. During this time all current planning practice guidance will remain in place.<br><br>The website outlines advice on a number of issues, including encouraging local authorities to build more bungalows for older people, and new neighbourhood planning guidance to enable communities to devise their own plans. <br><br>“Having stripped away outdated advice, our new user friendly website brings together a simplified set of clear, concise guidance and publishes it altogether in one place,” said Boles. “This will make the planning system much easier to navigate for everyone involved.”<br><br>The Taylor Review brought together a group of experts led by Lord Taylor of Goss Moor to make recommendations on the practice guidance that should exist to “support effective planning”.
