The Zero Carbon Hub has launched a report on potential options for Allowable Solutions, a key ingredient of the government's 2016 zero carbon new homes policy.<br> <br> Using stakeholder feedback, the report, Allowable Solutions – evaluating opportunities and priorities, examines the Hub's operational framework proposals set out in 2011, and explores six potential options, weighed against some critical success factors. <br> <br> The six potential options involve investing in: district heating; social housing retrofitting initiatives; renewable energy projects; embodied carbon initiatives; low carbon lighting projects (LEDs); and investing via the Green Deal. Neil Jefferson, the Hub's ceo, said: "We see in this report a broad consensus of support for the 2011 Allowable Solutions framework proposals developed by the Hub".
