Nigel Banks, R&D Director, ilke Homes

Nigel is a Chartered Engineer who started his career at AECOM Applied Research. At Keepmoat, he delivered many of the UK’s best performing new build and retrofit projects and led the R&D project that resulted in the creation of ilke Homes. At ilke Homes, Nigel is now focused on developing step change projects, including ilke ZERO.

ilke ZERO is ilke Homes’ commitment to only build ZERO carbon homes, with ZERO energy bills, at ZERO additional cost to traditional construction by 2030. Working in partnership with Octopus Energy and Gresham House, the first homes to benefit from the Octopus ilke ZERO bills tariff have been installed in Essex, complete with their modular solar roofs and are due to be occupied this summer.
