NHBC, (National House-Building Council), is the standard setting body and leading warranty and insurance provider for new and newly converted homes in the UK. Its role is to work with the house-building and wider construction industry to provide risk management services that raise the standards of new homes, and to provide consumer protection to new homebuyers.
The UK’s small housebuilders play a vital role in meeting the increasing demand for new homes. However, this important sector of the housebuilding industry is in decline. Neil Smith, NHBC’s head of research and innovation, talks through the NHBC Foundation’s recent report which addresses the issues small companies face.
