Marian Spain

Marian has been Chief Executive of Natural England since 2020, having previously been appointed to the Board and as interim Chief Executive in 2018.

She started her career at the Countryside Commission, and went on to hold various roles, the Environment Agency, Ofwat and the Energy Saving Trust. Prior to joining Natural England she was CEO at Plantlife International, an appointee to the New Forest National Park Authority, and a trustee of the Campaign for National Parks. She holds degrees from the University of Liverpool and Wye College.
