Malcolm Rivett

A planner and transport planner, Malcolm has had a 30 years’ career in both local and central government. He has been a Planning Inspector for 16 years and has undertaken a wide variety of appeal and transport order casework and around 20 local plan examinations. He currently manages a team of senior Inspectors and has previously enjoyed stints as a trainer of new Inspectors, as Professional Lead for Local Plans and as an external examiner at Newcastle University. Malcolm likes finding pragmatic solutions to real world problems and vintage punk clothes. He dislikes anything resembling the Emperor’s new clothes.
