John Tebbit
is a Chartered civil engineer whose early years were spent in the railways, water and contracting sectors. In 1985 he moved to Celcon as a technical adviser on masonry products, eventually becoming director of another group company, Kingsway Technology, where he was involved in technical support, machinery design and supply and licensing technologies in USA and India.
Immediately prior to joining Robust Details this year, John was Industry Affairs Director and Deputy Chief Executive at the Construction Products Association, which he joined in 2001, with responsibility for:

Technical and regulatory issues including Building Regulations, delivering zero carbon buildings, the Construction Products Regulation and Housing Standards Review

Environmental issues including embodied environmental impacts and responsible sourcing of materials

Health and safety and industry improvement, including Building Information Modelling (BIM)

John serves on a number of bodies including BSI committees, NHBC Council and the Zero Carbon Hub. He is a member of the Government's Building Regulations Advisory Committee (BRAC). He was appointed Managing Director at the beginning of May 2014.
