Ed Stansfield is Chief Property Economist at Capital Economics where his responsibilities cover the UK residential market, as well as commercial property markets in the UK and Continental Europe. He has a BSc in Economics from the University of Sussex and an MSc from the University of York.
Ed began his career at the UK Treasury where he worked as an Economic Adviser producing short and medium-term forecasts for the economy and providing advice on a wide range of domestic and international economic policy issues.
Ed joined Capital Economics in 2003 moving from UBS where he was responsible for analysing the UK and euro-zone economies. At Capital Economics he works closely with the European and UK Economics team and ensures that the many links between the property market and the economy are fully incorporated in our work on the property sector. Ed regularly presents our views on property markets to our clients and is a frequent contributor to media debates on the property market
