Austin Baggett

National Energy Services (NES) through its National Home Energy Rating (NHER) scheme provides training, software, accreditation, and consultancy in energy efficiency in buildings.  The NHER is the leading accreditation scheme with over 3,000 energy assessors as members and over 800,000 EPCs lodged since 2007.

Austin has 18 years experience in the energy and environmental assessment of buildings.  In 1991 he joined Energy Conscious Design (ECD), a practice of architects and energy consultants, where he was trained as one of the country's first energy auditors.  He was also heavily involved in the early development of BREEAM which ECD co-authored with the BRE, and co-wrote BREEAM Industrial Units in 1993.  He has also worked in business development and marketing for both a national  engineering contractor and a controls manufacturer.  Austin joined NES in 2001 and much of his work in the last 8 years has been focussed on the implementation of the Energy Performance in Buildings Directive.  He is a chartered engineer and a member of CIBSE
