Women in housebuilding initiative announces pairings for mentoring programme

I am a Housebuilder, the initiative established by the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for SME Housebuilders, has announced the pairings for its inaugural mentorship programme, with female leaders in the industry set to mentor 25 women.

The I am a Housebuilder Mentorship Programme, sponsored by Saint-Gobain Interior Solutions, partners women who are already in the construction/housebuilding industry with experienced professionals, many of whom own their own SME housebuilding businesses.

Two new mentors have joined the seven leading the initiative, thanks to the strong response to the launch of the mentorship programme. They are Rutu Buddhdev, director of Amara Property and Elli Kiely, design and innovation director at HJK Construction.

The mentees from the first cohort of the programme range from ages 23 to 58. Applicants are from a wide spectrum of disciplines across the property/housebuilding sector, including architects, planners, site assistants, letting agents, designers and marketers.

According to I am a Housebuilder, several of the mentees have already set up their own housebuilding or construction businesses “and hope to learn from the mentors how to further develop their skills to enable them to scale their businesses”.
