Wimpey wins contest for Bracknell development

Construction company, George Wimpey, has been given the contract to develop the former RAF Staff College site in Bracknell, Berkshire. English Partnerships selected George Wimpey from a shortlist that included Taylor Woodrow, Crest Nicholson, Linden Homes, David Wilson and Countryside Properties. The 44ha brownfield site has planning permission for 730 homes. English Partnerships is seeking to provide 38% affordable properties with 15% set aside for key workers. It will work closely with Brackenell Forest Council to ensure the development complements the regeneration of the town centre. A start on site is planned for later in the year.
