Urban village takes shape in London’s City Road Basin

<p>Grove Manor Homes’Angel Waterside will form an integral part of the regeneration of London’s City Road Basin, which is to be transformed into a new “village” of more than 800 apartments overlooking the Regents Canal. Lying between Old Street and Angel Islington, Angel Waterside will feature landscaped gardens and public parks along the water’s edge along with mooring facilities for narrowboats. </p> <p> The eight storey building comprises 64 apartments, including two duplex penthouses along with 5,000sq ft of office space and underground parking. Due for completion in September, it adjoins the Crystal Wharf scheme, which the developer completed in 2004 through a joint venture with PTE Architects. “Angel Waterside will create a tranquil waterside location in the heart of the city,” said Grove Manor director Jeff Duggan. “It will be a great place to live and a tremendous investment at this early stage in the overall Basin regeneration programme.\"</p>
