Trouble piles up for the Housing Corporation

The Housing Corporation is at risk of losing its Investors in People status according to the Guardian website. Leaked documents apparently show that an assessor from the government funded Investors in People organisation said that the corporation had a poor approach to training and “a management culture that doesn’t adequately value staff and their contributions.” An internal survey of the corporation’s staff also revealed that 43% mistrusted senior management, 65% thought the corporation was not managed efficiently and 68% felt that senior management was unaware of issues faced by frontline employees. In a letter to staff the Housing Corporation chief executive said: “When I arrived eight months ago I knew there was lots to be done. I think we’ve made a start but only a start.”
