Training the key as Kickstart schemes are announced

Housing minister John Healey has announced that ten stalled housing schemes will receive the first wave of government cash to get the building of 740 homes back on track. The schemes will receive £10 million as part of the Kickstart programme. Five of the schemes are Persimmon projects and three Barratt. The minister stressed that the government was looking at developers who have established apprentice schemes, which both Persimmon and Barratt do. Homes and Communities Agency ceo Sir Bob Kerslake said: “This is just the start – we’ll now be working through all the bids with the aim of finalising all the allocations for this first round in the next two months.” <br>
