Thermoboard gives warmth on the water

Thermoboard, the underfloor heating division of Wavin, has demonstrated that underfloor heating (UFH) can be used for almost any home –regardless of location, design, space or floor construction – with an installation on a narrowboat, right. <br> <br> Property developers Gill Kelway and Aidan Boyd selected Thermoboard products for their project. The Timber Batten UFH system was chosen as it could be trimmed to suit the unusual shape of the boat in the kitchen-diner area. The system includes insulation panels with pre-cut channels for pipe, making for easy installation; and the panels were placed on the boat’s sub-floor between battens at 600mm centres to create a floor construction that was consistent with the joisted areas.<br> <br> This was then combined with the company’s Modular Wood UFH system throughout the rest of the craft – including throughout the entrance corridor area. This system was particularly suited to this area as it means the panels can be lifted at any time to gain access to the floor void.<br> <br>
