The return of The Brain Game

The Housebuilder Marie Curie Brain Game was resurrected in May after an absence of three years to raise an exceptional £85,000 for Marie Curie Cancer Care. <br> <br> The Brain Game is a black tie celebrity-hosted quiz night for the housebuilding industry, and a sell out crowd of 30 teams squeezed into London’s Plaisterers' Hall to compete in this year’s event, which was supported by NHBC. <br> <br> And indeed it was an NHBC team which won the quiz, beating off competition from teams such as Taylor Wimpey, Crest Nicholson and Barratt. <br> <br> The quiz was hosted by BBC presenter Bill Turnbull, with assistance from co-presenter Sian Williams, singer Sophie Ellis Bextor, former Blue Peter presenter Janet Ellis and BBC Radio Five’s Mark Clemmit. <br> <br> The auction was conducted by the legendary Jonny Gould (see Person of the Month on Page 2) and included a Salvador Dali original woodblock, VIP Take That tickets and a round of golf with Jimmy Tarbuck.<br> <br> The driving force behind the Housebuilder Brain Game is Explore Living chairman Paul Healey who joined forces with Housebuilder publisher Ben Roskrow to launch the event in 2006.<br> <br> Roskrow said: "For the event to be …
