Taylor Wimpey opens new sites in "significantly better" market

<p>Taylor Wimpey has opened 22 new outlets in the second half of the year so far and plans to open more as market conditions continue to be "significantly better" than the same period last year.</p> <p>In an interim management statement issued today the firm said it did not experience the normal seasonal downturn in the summer and sales rates have remained solid in the autumn too. </p> <p>"We are now fully sold for 2009 and our sales focus remains on achieving price increases as we build our 2010 order book," the firm said. "Our net private reservation rate for the second half to date is 0.56 homes per site per week. These reservation rates include the effect of cancelations which remain low at 16% for the second half to date." </p> <p>Taylor Wimpey has pushed its average selling price up by about 9% against the £163,000 achieved on private completions in the first half. This is a result of a shift towards housing and away from apartments as well as price increases.</p> <p>New outlets are now being branded "Taylor Wimpey" and this wil also be the brand on existing outlets soon.</p> <p>The firm says it has also made good progress …
