Taylor Wimpey announces PPE visors

<p><span>Taylor Wimpey has confirmed its first order of PPE (personal protective equipment) visors in partnership with Wycombe Engineering.</span><span></span></p> <p><span>The volume housebuilder said the PPE had been “rapidly” designed and manufactured in the UK with design and engineering company Wycombe Engineering, with the visors designed to be “robust, flexible, speedy, scalable, affordable and reusable”. The PPE is attached to Scott and JSP construction helmets.</span><span></span></p> <p><span>High quality PPE forms part of the country’s response to coronavirus and is a “key enabler” for the broader strategy for returning to work, Taylor Wimpey said. The product is now also available to the wider UK construction industry.</span><span></span></p> <p><span>The newly designed visors will be presented to the government’s newly appointed “PPE tsar” Lord Deighton, the firm added.</span><span></span></p> <p><span>Pete Redfern, Taylor Wimpey’s ceo, said: “High quality PPE is vital in order to ensure both the safety and effectiveness of our workforce at this critical time. We need PPE that’s robust yet comfortable, ideally reusable and sustainable and most of all, providing safe protection for our team. The new visor from Wycombe Engineering does exactly that.”</span><span></span></p>
