Target Timber hits the mark

Timber frame manufacturer Target Timber reports that it is busier now than at any time in its history. Joint md Nick Whittle comments: “The last quarter of 2011 and the first quarter of 2012 have been phenomenal – not only are enquiries up but order intake has increased substantially to the point that we have now already secured the first half order book for 2012.” <br> <br> Operating from two purpose built factories in South Wales, Target Timber says that it has responded to a challenging market by enhancing its product offering to help meet the latest Building Regulations. Whittle continues: “Our frames now include factory fixed reflective breather membrane and 120mm ridged insulation which provides a U value – assuming a brick skin – of 0.19. This has become pretty much standard. We no longer offer solid floor joists – all our floors are constructed using Steico engineered I beams which have greater spanning capacity and minimum deflection. We have also introduced factory fixed double glazed windows which offer zero airtightness.”<br> <br>
