Sustainable communities awards up for grabs

June 18, 2004
Housebuilders who fancy themselves in the sustainability stakes should note that entries are now open for this year’s Award for Sustainable Communities. "The awards will pay tribute to those people whose commitment and enthusiasm are making a significant difference to our communities through innovative schemes or towards the building of thriving and successful communities,” said deputy prime minister John Prescott. “I encourage people who are working towards delivering sustainable communities to apply and I look forward to meeting nominees and winners at the 2005 Delivering Sustainable Communities Summit." Nominations are invited for any projects or initiative that is contributing to making towns, cities and rural communities in England better places in which to live and work. Any person, including those directly connected with the project or initiative, may submit an entry. Contact BURA for further information.
