Sussing sustainability

<b><b>Sustainability is becoming an increasingly important issue both in the social housing and the private sector. Here Housing Forum project manager Paul Nicholls gives an insight into two demonstration projects which focus on sustainability in the private sector</b></b><br><b>Demonstration Projects are core to the Housing Forum's work. To date the demonstration projects panel, chaired by Professor David Gann, has accessed more than 250 nominations and has accepted 95 projects providing 28,000 units with a construction value of £854 million. These projects have been submitted from all sectors of the housebuilding industry. </b><br><b>New-build and refurbishment projects from the private sector form an important part of this portfolio. They are endeavouring to produce new homes encompassing many of the Egan principles set out in Rethinking Construction. Below are two examples of our private sector projects that focus on sustainability.
