Survey shows support for government’s housing plans

A survey for the charity Shelter has revealed that 90% of people fear the next generation will find it difficult to buy a home. Seven out of ten people are alarmed by rising house prices and many support the government’s plans to build more affordable housing. Of those surveyed, 87% agreed that the government should spend more public money to make its affordable housing plans happen. Adam Sampson, director of Shelter, said: “These results are a clear indication that the housing crisis is biting at the heels of ordinary people in villages, towns and cities across the country, leaving them with an appetite for housing reform.”
