<p>Stewart Milne Homes has resumed its sale of the business, with the company returning to profit during its year ending October 2022.</p> <p>The Aberdeen-based housebuilder, which <a href="http://www.house-builder.co.uk/news/stewart-milne-puts-sale-hold">in December suspended its plans to sell amidst difficult market conditions</a>, said its directors had “re-commenced a sale process in 2023 to find a new buyer for the Stewart Milne Homes business”. The outlook for the company, it stated, was “highly encouraging”. </p> <p>For the year ending October 31 2022, Stewart Milne’s pre-tax profit was £16.5 million. In 2021, it posted a £13.1 million loss.</p> <p>At the same time, the housebuilder’s revenue dropped from £221.1 million in 2021 to £172.4 million. Stewart Milne said this was due to reduced investment in land during the pandemic “which has a consequent impact on settlements in the reported financial year”. </p> <p>The firm delivered 583 units against 828 in the previous year. “However, the group now plans to significantly increase investment in land in the year ahead with a view to returning to pre-Covid activity levels,” Stewart Milne stated.</p> <p>The group gained £48.1 million from the sale of its Timber Systems business to Donaldson Group in 2021.</p> <p>Stewart Milne’s statement said: “After a period of transformation …
