Proposals to build 5000 new homes on the green belt west of Stevenage in Hertfordshire have been called in by Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott and a public inquiry is now expected. The scheme has been called in because, the government says, &amp;“the proposals may conflict with national policies on important matters and could have significant effects beyond their immediate locality.&amp;”<p></p><p></p>
