<p>In the heart of London, the Crest Nicholson-led SixtyK Consortium has built a prototype of the £60,000 house, which made it a winner in the government’s design for manufacture competition. Designed by Sheppard Robson and constructed using Kingspan Century’s structural insulated TEK panels, the homes feature adjustable light wells which flood interiors with daylight. Crest chief executive Stephen Stone said: “The design process has resulted in some interesting ideas which we’d like to see rolled out across our housing range.”The firm is due to announce details of its new familyfriendly medium density housing portfolio next month.</p>
