<b><b>Jeremy Gates talks to <i>Richard Silver</i>, managing director, Silver Homes in East Sussex, about how a marina project is helping him grow the company </b></b><br><b><b></b> Richard Silver was the last and littlest developer into the long-awaited Sovereign Harbour and Marine project on the south coast at Eastbourne. The opposition is mostly national, including Prowting, Persimmon, McLean, Wimpey and Sunley. </b><br><b><b>A bit different</b></b><br> &"Mass market developers have a particular market segment in mind and usually find it rather well,&" says Silver. &"I saw an opportunity to do something different - private roads, gated entrance, Cotswold stone tiles on the roof. Not everybody wants it, perhaps, but it is certainly different. <p></p><p>&"I could see my buyers as couples whose kids have left home, maybe both working. They want well-proportioned living and bedrooms, and top quality fixtures and fittings. We do a two bedroomed townhouse at 1,450 sq ft, and two bedroomed and two bathroomed apartments at 975 sq ft around £140,000. </p><p>&"Inside, we spend more than the basic minimum: concrete floors, granite surfaces and stainless steel appliances in the kitchens, real wood laminated flooring in hall and living area, TV/phone/computer points in all main rooms, stainless steel stairs enclosed by yachtwire and …
