"Shred of optimism" as NHBC registrations rise

<p>New homes registrations in May were 29% up on April and almost exactly that recorded in May last year according to figures released today by NHBC.</p> <p>"During recent weeks feedback from housebuilders has revealed that uncertainty over proposed planning policies continues to make forecasts for the rest of the year difficult," said NHBC ceo Imtiaz Farookhi. "However a shred of optimism is seeping back into the industry in part due to the government's announcement of public land becoming available for housing development."</p>
