Shared equity competition

<p>The Housing Corporation and commercial real estate giant CB Richard Ellis have jointly launched a shared equity competition aimed at “revolutionising the way new housing is financed.”The competition - open to institutional investors, mortgage lenders, developers and housing associations - aims to “break down the barriers to achieving affordable home ownership.”</p> <p>It is calling for potential financial partners to help develop new shared equity products for the intermediate housing market, aimed at helping more buyers onto the property ladder. The Corporation has committed £150 million a year to the venture, and it aims to get new shared equity products off the ground in April 2008.
