Safety first at Windrush Medical Centre

When faced with the requirement to install a storm drain facility during new build and extension works at the Windrush Medical Centre in Witney, contractor Strongwork Construction turned to drainage and water management specialist JDP.<br> <br> The requirement for the drainage system specified was that it should be quick and cost effective to install, whilst still being fully compliant with the requirements of The Confined Spaces Regulations 1997, providing for non-man entry access for inspection and on going maintenance.<br> <br> The Axedo 600 Chamber is designed to be installed at depths of up to 6m and is manufactured for JDP by sister manufacturing group company DYKA.<br> <br> The Axedo system from JDP comprises a base unit available in various channel configurations, with 600mm shaft and restrictor cap. The JDP technical department provided advice on configuration and installation of the system, which consisted of 18no. Axedo 600 chambers with various different angles, riser and connectors to Twinwall pipe. All chambers were delivered to site within two days, which was important to the contractor, JDP says. <br>
