Role for Egan

The government has appointed CBI president Sir John Egan to be its special advisor on the Thames Gateway. Announcing the appointment, the prime minister Tony Blair described Egan’s role as forming a link to employers and developers, advising on government delivery and being “a driving force behind the prosperity of the region.” Egan said he was “very enthusiastic”.
