Retirement Villages Group ceo leaves post

Will Bax, chief executive of Retirement Villages Group (RVG), has stepped down from his post with chief property officer Tim Seddon replacing him, effective from yesterday (July 15).

Bax leaves his position after five years of leading RVG, during which he followed a mandate to modernise the integrated retirement communities developer.

RVG said Bax and the executive team had “transformed” the group’s culture, improved its operational efficiency and “overseen a major programme of investment” in the existing village estate.

The business also applauded Bax for leading the strategy for the Thrive Living collection within the group, a model for “urban, socially connected, sustainable retirement communities”.

The first of these communities is set to open in Chester at the end of this year with those in West Byfleet and Tunbridge Wells to follow in 2025.

RVG said that under Bax’s guidance, it had been a “passionate advocate for change in the sector”, including boosting consumer protections. Recently, the retirement developer and operator launched a new customer contract, giving buyers “a more simple, certain and affordable way to buy, live and sell their home”.
