Report reveals customer demand for eco friendly homes

<p><span>Nearly a third of customers want future homes to be more eco-friendly, according to new research from Eurocell.</span><br/></p> <p><span>In a survey of 1,000 25-40 year old home owners and renters, Eurocell, manufacturer and distributor of PVCu window, door, conservatory and roofline systems, found that 29% of respondents rated eco-friendliness as the most desired design feature for their home.</span></p> <p><span>Eurocell’s Future Home report – which explores design and build considerations for future housing – also revealed other favoured design trends including open plan living at 24% of respondents, and floor to ceiling windows and a minimalist look in joint third place at 23% of the votes.</span></p> <p><span>Probing respondents further on their perceptions of environmentally friendly building and design, Eurocell found that 49% would be more likely to buy or rent an eco-conscious home. But just 24% said they would be willing to pay more money when buying or renting a property with eco-credentials.</span></p> <p><span>At the same time, 46% of respondents would pay a” little bit more” in rent or property price if the home incorporated their preferred design trends, with 10% prepared to pay “significantly more”.</span></p> <p><span>Eurocell also asked respondents for the top three factors that helped make them “feel good” …
