Rentplus offers affordable rent on Taylor Wimpey site

<p><span>Rentplus is offering its affordable rent to buy properties for the first time in Hampshire, on Taylor Wimpey’s Dukes Quarter scheme in Whitehill &amp; Bordon. </span><span></span></p> <p><span>In this phase of 190 new homes, 73 will be Rentplus properties. With its model, Rentplus explained, residents can move into a new home without paying an initial deposit, paying an affordable rent for the duration of the lease which can run for five to 20 years, giving residents time to save towards a deposit.</span> </p> <p><span>At year five and other “key points”, residents can opt to purchase the home, with Rentplus “gifting” them 10% of the purchase price towards their deposit. </span> </p> <p><span>The provider said its affordable rent to buy model gave an “accessible route” to homeownership for “ordinary working people unable to save for a deposit or access other forms of affordable home ownership defined by the National Planning Policy Framework, including shared ownership, which requires a substantial deposit”. </span> </p> <p><span>The 3,350-home Dukes Quarter is part of Prince Philip Park, a large regeneration project being co-ordinated by the Whitehill &amp; Bordon Regeneration Company.
