Redrow first to beat £60,000 house target

Redrow will announce its plans to meet the government’s £60,000 house target this week. Unlike other housebuilders Redrow’s plans will include the price of land as well as meeting government targets on sustainability and thermal and sound insulation. Redrow has received planning permission on a site in Rugby. The range of houses, called Debut, will use steel frame and prefabricated wall, floors and roofs. The cost of a one-bedroom apartment in Rugby will be £54,995 rising to £119,995 for a two bedroom, two storey house. All 103 homes are expected to be finished within a year.
